Lesbian couple jailed for kissing on Dubai public beach

Two women were arrested for indecent acts in public, the first such arrest of its kind in the country. The women were charged with kissing and groping each other in public. The pair received a one month jail term after which they will be deported.
The couple, a 30-year-old Lebanese national and a 36-year-old Bulgarian, both pleaded not guilty.
