Survey finds doctors may not disclose medical procedures if against their morals

Next time you need to look for a physician make sure you do your research and get to know how your doctor feels about controversial issues like homosexuality because you may end up being shortchanged on the type of service and care you receive.

A recent survey reported in the New England Journal of Medicine found that "physicians who were male, those who were religious, and those who had personal objections to morally controversial clinical practices were less likely to report that doctors must disclose information about or refer patients for medical procedures to which the physician objected on moral grounds."

The results are an eye-opener, so spend some time doing your homework the next time you need to choose a physician. It just might save your life.
